- The 2010 metting will include an Equine Placentitis and Abortion diagnostics Workship to be held Wedensday the 4th at the newly renovated University of Kentucky Livestock Disease Diagnostic Center. Following the workshop attendees and thier families are invited to a loal vineyard called Equus Run for a private tasting with vineyard and winery tour.
Thursday the 4th will begin with a tour of Old Friends Equine, a retirement home for Thoroughbred race horses. This will be followed by a behind the scenes tour of a famous equine breeding farm and a local equine hospital. If time permits a visit to the KY Horse park will be included.
The avian and molecular biology sessions on Thursday afternoon will be preceded by a presentation on poultry diagnostic testing by Kim Sprouts of Synbiotics.
An informal social gathering will be held Thursday evening at the hotel.
Friday's agenda will be filled with general and breakout meetings.
- The general meeting will feature presentations by Dr. Peter Timoney and two other equine specialists.
- A special social event featuring dinner and a band will be held Friday evening.
Breakout meetings will conclude Saturday morning and be followed by vendor demonstrations of their evolving veterinary diagnostic technology.
The meeting will conclude Saturday the 8th which should leave enough time for attendees to attend the Jimmy Buffet Concert at the Riverbend Music Center, in Cincinnati (1.5 hours from Lexington by car).
